Zumtobel and the iF DESIGN AWARD share a long history of success. The lighting solutions specialist from the Austrian town of Dornbirn claimed its first iF design prize in 1961. The latest honour for the SUPERSYSTEM II modular LED lighting system takes the Zumtobel haul to a grand total of 81, making it one of the most successful B2B companies in the history of the iF DESIGN AWARD.
Outstanding product design and extremely efficient lighting technology – the powerful combination that saw Zumtobel prevail once again at the 2016 competition, helping the SUPERSYSTEM product family claim a second iF DESIGN AWARD following its first sucess in 2009. The latest generation of this multi-functional lighting toolbox impressed the jury with a blend of stringent miniaturisation, elegant design and cutting-edge LED technology. The narrow profile and rich variety of modular components make this product the ideal solution for a wide range of sophisticated lighting tasks - from shop and retail applications to museums and galleries, hotels, restaurants and even in private residential projects. Optimised for general illumination, accent lighting and wallwashing, SUPERSYSTEM II can master diverse lighting situations with a uniform design language.
Since 1953 the iF DESIGN AWARDS have been allocated by an independent jury and are generally seen as one of the most important international design prizes. Jury members include renowned designers, entrepreneurs and researchers, who use clearly defined criteria to evaluate and honour the best designs created by forward-thinking companies from across the world. The iF DESIGN AWARD is a clear indicator of future-oriented design development and product innovation.
