Leading European transport and logistics service provider Weiss-Rohlig celebrated the grand opening of its new logistics facility in the Jebel Ali Freezone South in March 2016. Covered space for more than 8000 pallets in ambient and temperature-controlled storage compartments is now provided across a site covering 10,000 square metres.
This key project was another example of the long-standing collaboration between Weiss-Rohlig and the Zumtobel Group. All storage facilities are equipped with the flexible and efficient TECTON LED continuous-row lighting system, which can be easily adjusted and extended to reflect changes in structural layout or function. With TECTON trunking providing the functional basis, a variety of different luminaires, optics and other components can be moved, replaced or added at any time. With a luminaire efficiency of 148 lumens per watt, TECTON also contributes significantly to the total energy savings. MIREL evolution in the office areas creates perfect lighting conditions for the most varied visual tasks and meets all the relevant standards.
Marcel Meyer, Managing Director UAE Weiss-Rohlig Dubai, explained: "The replacement of faulty lamps or complete luminaires in partly inaccessible places costs a lot of money and takes a lot of time and effort. With our LED solution from Zumtobel we are reducing the need for maintenance, which means fewer disruptions of important working processes. Our logistics terminal is supporting the vision and the will to provide outstanding services around the world. To deliver that service we need to make sure that our employees operate in an environment that reflects this philosophy. With the TECTON system from Zumtobel we have created bright ambient lighting and comfortable working conditions."
