Arnold and Porter San Francisco Office

Zumtobel lighting design for new Arnold & Porter office in San Francisco | USA

When Arnold & Porter renovated its San Francisco office, the law firm was presented with a unique opportunity to unify the corporate look of its work environment. Each floor of the building was acquired at different periods in time as the firm expanded, resulting in a visually fragmented and functionally disjointed office space.

The renovation united the floors with a consistent aesthetic that better represents the collaborative company culture. At the helm of the renovation design were HYL Architecture and HLB Lighting, whose concepts expressed a contemporary linearity reflected in both architecture and lighting. The space was designed around a "Garden Room" concept, which provides a collaborative work environment. Overall, the goal was to maintain a bright and sharp aesthetic with clean lines, complemented by the occasional emergence of bright colour and a clear repetition of linear forms.

In terms of lighting, a minimalistic approach was taken to solve multiple lighting needs throughout the office within a single product family. Varied lighting options and available spotlight enhancements made SLOTLIGHT LED the perfect solution to combine general lighting and more precise lighting in a single, clean luminaire. With SLOTLIGHT LED, each room maintained the same aesthetic while offering independent lighting control. In this way, the lighting needs of open areas, conference rooms and smaller offices were addressed equally.
