Light is an effective marketing tool. It has the ability to address target groups and differentiate brands. The Porsche Design Group enlarged in March 2012 its presence at the world-famous department store Harrods in London. The location in the new Harrods Technology Department exceeds 80 square metres and offers the full range of Porsche Design products - highlighted by Zumtobel.
The 80 square metres shop-in-shop at Harrods offers the entire range of Porsche Design products, from luggage and eyewear to fashion and sports apparel, watches, jewellery, smoking accessories, electronic products and writing tools. A highlight at the new location is the Porsche Design Fashion Collection for men and women. Intelligent innovations such as the Porsche Design P'1140 RawTec Blazer – that goes without lining thanks to the use of full-grain lambskin leather, with nappa finish on the inside – make every piece of the collection a success and second to none not only in terms of design.
Shop design is a crucial tool for sustainably entrenching brand messages against the backdrop of major brands which have increasingly global presences. Architects and designers who are capable of interacting strongly with a brand and engaging with the target group are a vital prerequisite for devising successful design concepts and developing a brand-specific design in agreement with all stakeholders. Retail areas are transforming into experiential spaces.
In the four-story, all the product presentations including the articles at the POS, with the help of interior design studio plajer & franz studio in Berlin, are highlighted by a DISCUS lighting solution from Zumtobel. Its delicate but robust design is creatively inspired by cutting-edge LED technology: a flat, minimalist shape with an unmistakable appearance – characterised by the radial fins of the passive heatsink and its illuminated replaceable optic. In addition, implementation of DALI functionality into the 3-phase track enables optimal flexibility with the modernisation of existing systems.
Porsche Design is a luxury brand with a particular focus on technically inspired products. The Porsche Design brand was established in 1972 by Professor Ferdinand Alexander Porsche. The products stand for functional, timeless and purist design, characterised by their technical innovation. The product portfolio includes watches, sunglasses, luggage, electronic products, a men’s fragrance line as well as sports apparel and a fashion collection for men and women. All the products under the brand are designed at the Porsche Design Studio in Zell am See (Austria) and are available worldwide in the company’s own stores, franchise stores, shops-in-shops, high end department stores and exclusive specialist retailers.
