Pritzker Group

Los Angeles, California | USA

The new Pritzker Group office in Los Angeles, California, is a design jewel: characterized by straight lines, smooth surfaces and keen artwork, the bright atmosphere is fresh and inviting. White walls offset with textured materials interchange with keen statements of the company’s new corporate colour – a bright pumpkin orange. The lighting by Zumtobel plays its part in this game of contrasting colours and shapes by delivering high-quality illumination while also serving as an integral design element.

Both, interior architecture and lighting planned by design firm HOK, delivers a unique office environment for the Pritzker Group. The space is whimsical and enchanting, defined by a contrast of colours, textures and finishes, and a playful balance of circular and linear shapes. Just by entering the space, oversized concentric art pieces and a polished marble "runway" greet associates. Pops of bright orange appear not only in flooring and walls,  but also in furniture, while at the same time the museum-quality art collection attract attention in every room. For HOK, the design reflects the bright, modern and casual atmosphere of Southern California.

The single office operations are divided into various workplace zones, while the private offices are enclosed by a modular glass wall and door system that provides natural light with amazing views over Los Angeles. The design is part of the Pritzker Group's commitment to the health and well-being of its staff.

The lighting plays its part within the space, delivering high-quality illumination while also serving as an integral design element. The impact of the luminaires is augmented by the many reflective surfaces throughout the office, which mirror the light from the ceiling on the polished floors. For this reason, SLOTLIGHT LED by Zumtobel was chosen because of its sleek design and flexible functionality. SLOTLIGHT LED delivers continuous ribbons of light, creating custom orthogonal shapes and traveling seamlessly between ceilings and walls. With varying widths, SLOTLIGHT LED answers multiple needs – narrow 1.5" SLOTLIGHT LED creates a thin accent design, whereas the wider 4" and 6" SLOTLIGHT LED luminaires are used for more general lighting purposes.
