In Memmingen, there is a building of BTV Bank für Tirol und Vorarlberg AG, which is almost completely out of steel. The timber construction specialist Cree GmbH from Vorarlberg, Austria, brought the most sustainable of all building materials to the city centers of southern Germany: wood. The first building the experts realized in their innovative, wood-hybrid construction was in the Swabian city of Memmingen, and it was awarded with numerous international prizes. This extraordinary residential and commercial building, erected in the city center in 2016, was illuminated with a lighting solution by Zumtobel.
The renowned Cree concept is based on prefabricated elements made of non-encapsulated wood, which can be installed directly on the building site. As a result, such a modular construction calls for partners who also maintain the principle of sustainability within the building itself. Thus, the building is partially ventilated naturally. Furthermore, cooling takes place via the ground water and the heating is also carried out via a ground water heat pump. With Zumtobel, Cree and the owner BTV Vier Länder Bank have found a reliable partner for the lighting. Even in the early planning stages, the entire building was completely planned to be of LED lighting.
Besides the LED downlight PANOS evolution in the reception area, the lobby and the kitchenette of the BTV Vier Länder Bank, the solution also comprises the ultra slim LED pendant luminaire AXON in the meeting rooms and the LED light line SLOTLIGHT II in the underground parking area. The striking LED free-standing luminaire LINETIK, however, is the heart of the lighting solution: it provides both, an impressive lighting comfort with expressive design.
LINETIK harnesses unique lighting technology to deliver the right light for every worker at every workplace. Discreet presence with maximum effect, rather than simply just a luminaire: LINETIK speaks a clear yet beautifully simple design language. The narrow luminaire body has a profile of just 24x24mm.
Despite this subtle appearance, it is fully robust and can be quickly and easily put together or positioned in a room. The combination of sleek design and innovative lighting technology directs the light precisely where it is needed. In this way, LINETIK also makes small work of large areas, seamlessly blending maximum lighting comfort with a clear design statement.
Reference project LCT ONE in Dornbirn
The concept works. Cree GmbH, a subsidiary of Rhomberg Bau GmbH (Bregenz), has already proved this several times. The first project, the LCT ONE in Dornbirn, has attracted a lot of public attention since its inauguration in late 2012 and has received numerous awards and certificates. This project was also illuminated by Zumtobel.
