When the Zumtobel office roadshow customer’s event finally arrived in Singapore, the 7th city stop in the Zumtobel Group sales region Asia Pacific, the regional marketing team decided to instill new excitement. The exciting element is mainly due to the venue choice when it was first confirmed to be held at the prestigious Supreme Court Terrace at the National Gallery Singapore. With skylight above, the terrace offers a sophisticated setting for an exclusive evening event with the architects, interior designers and lighting consultants.
The spirit of collaboration was further exemplified with the participation of Steelcase, a well-established premium brand in office furniture. The company shares the same philosophy of office space creation as Zumtobel does. Therefore they were invited as the guest speaker and also showcasing complementary Steelcase office furniture in the Zumtobel office cubes, matching with architectural styles of minimalistic, modern smart and corporate. This would not only jointly promote the office wellbeing topic but also further provide a holistic experience for the guests.
As a token of appreciation to Steelcase’s participation and support, the event invitation was also extended to Steelcase’s network of architects and interior designers in South East Asia. The invitations fostered great interests from architects and designers and received more than 120 guest confirmations across South East Asia such as Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines and even as far as Korea. In total, 95 guests attended the event. They were amazed at how lighting and office space innovations were jointly presented and started experiencing both the lighting and furniture immediately.
The event was formally kicked off with a welcome speech by Kevin Foo, General Manager Zumtobel Group South East Asia, and later followed by the external guest speaker, Toby Rakison, Regional Director Steelcase South East Asia, where he shared enthusiastically on the topic of engagement and how wellbeing in the workplace can help employees to engage and grow. The highlight of the evening came when Katja Vonach-Lubetz, Product Manager of Office Applications, started her sharing of Zumtobel’s evolution of holistic lighting ecosystems to enhance wellbeing, architecture and Connectivity.
“It’s been a long time since we had any customer event in Singapore and it was great to have our key customers gathered together for an evening of inspirations and collaborations!” said Kevin Foo, General Manager, Zumtobel Group South East Asia. “Throughout the evening, the light fittings within the cubes were constantly going on and off, a sign where the sales colleague were enthusiastically guiding their customers through the cubes,” said Michael Lim, Marketing Director Asia Pacific. “The collaborative efforts with Steelcase with an overarching topic of office wellbeing not only drew greater interest from our customers but also brought further enlightenments to the event. During the evening, it was especially heartening to see how the guests from both Steelcase and Zumtobel were able to mingle and network seamlessly.”
The global Zumtobel office roadshow starting from Autumn 2016 in Europe went around the world to introduce the Active Light concept to architects and lighting designers. Active Light by Zumtobel brings the dynamic of daylight inside – into the office – supports the natural biorhythm and improves well-being and satisfaction. The concept is able to provide the right lighting in the right intensity and colour at the right time. It also increases one’s concentration ability and people’s ability to deal with stress in daily life.
